Tree Island was started in 2012 by a microbiologist and whole food enthusiast after returning from France where they tasted artisan yogurt made with fresh, whole milk. Nothing comparable existed in BC, so they set out to create it themselves.
Tree Island makes grass-fed, artisan yogurt at their production plant in the Comox Valley. They use 100% fresh whole BC milk, carefully select the best ingredients and handcraft yogurt in small batches using a traditional, slow-kettle cooking method.
Their mission is to nourish the community by strengthening the local food system and promoting land stewardship.
Tree Island is committed to building a sustainable future for our children and generations to come. They support local, grass-fed dairy farms with pastures that promote healthy ecosystems and are using 50% less plastic in their new packaging.
