One Arrow Meats is owned and operated by Cree-Metis Chef, Heat Laliberte. Heat has worked in Vancouver's top kitchens such as Bluewater Cafe and Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel and travelled the world cooking for Olympic Athletes. In 2016 he was the recipient of the Fairmont Pacific Rim's top prize and was named "Star of the Year". In 2017 Heat's passion for personal growth led him to participate in the Aboriginal Business & Entrepreneurship Skills Training Program at the Vancouver Friendship Centre. The course helps to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit of people, communities and organizations. During the course, Heat combined his 15 years of experience as a Chef, his love for community, and his desire to create a product he would be proud of.
The result was One Arrow Meats, a 100% Aboriginal owned and operated company making local, artisanal, hormone-free, and naturally smoked bacon.
One Arrow gives back to initiatives within the DTES, DTES Indigenous youth & LGBTQIA2S+ community through guest Chef fundraisers, speaking engagements, fundraiser donations and monetary donations.
