Mt Lehman cheese company is the fruit of Jason Dykstra’s passion for making local artisan cheese. Having grown up on a local goat dairy, Jason’s passion was started young. He knows all the effort that goes into making quality goat milk which is where his cheese starts. In his early twenties, Jason had the opportunity to work in the milk processing industry and was introduced to the art of making cheese. He discovered a gift for making cheese and was soon given the freedom to make alterations to the recipes and enjoyed the process of making a new cheese.
After a few years, Jason’s parents bought the property and cheese making facility and moved the family operation to its new home. This gave Jason additional freedom in his cheese making. “With a growing need for milk the family farm no longer produced enough milk to make cheese and we searched for another supplier and this lead to the creation of Mt Lehman Cheese Company.”
